| The cities of Genoa, Burgos, Krakow and Stuttgart, their
public transport operators, industrial partners, and research institutions have defined a common
project proposal entitled CIVITAS CARAVEL. The idea of the in total four units of the CIVITAS
CARAVEL Summer University is to share the experiences and the knowledge gained in CIVITAS CARAVEL
with students and young professionals from all over the world. |

Summer University Genoa - Unit 3:
|
"Learning from the experiences in CiViTAS CARAVEL" - with this slogan CiViTAS CARAVEL invites students and young professionals to the CiViTAS CARAVEL Summer University!
The third unit will take place in Genoa, Italy, from June 25th to 26th, 2008. and will deal with "Demand Responsive Transport Services".
The CiViTAS CARAVEL Summer University in Genoa will start on Wednesday, June 25th, 2008, with a general overview on the meaning
of public transport in sustainable urban mobility and an introduction to the technical approaches to Demand Responsive Transport.
Afterwards the Project Manager of CiViTAS CARAVEL, Marco Mastretta, will give an introduction to the Car Sharing Service. He will
be followed by several measure leaders from CiViTAS CARAVEL in Genoa who will present several measures from Genoa related to Demand
Responsive Transport Services. The afternoon will start with site visits in Genoa before several speakers will explain different
approaches to Demand Responsive Transport Services from cities inside and outside of CiViTAS CARAVEL, among them Magdalena Drobniak
from the public transport operator in Krakow (Poland), presenting the Demand Responsive Transport Services in Krakow. The second day
(Thursday, June 26th, 2008) will be dedicated to the communication within Demand Responsive Transport Services, to marketing aspects
and to the transferability of these measures, including an exercise.

Additional units of the CiViTAS CARAVEL Summer University will be in Stuttgart, Germany ("Soft Measures in Transport Planning",
May 28th - 30th, 2008) and Budapest ("New Member States", November 2008).

The CIVITAS CARAVEL Summer University invites students and young professionals
from all over the world to participate. The participation at the CIVITAS CARAVEL
Summer University is free of charge. Participants only have to pay for travel costs and accommodation.
